Muesli out of Museli: Typography project experiment

Apologies for lack of blogging recently, Christmas was crazy busy and I've only just got back into the swing of things with uni work! (Sorta...)

For one of my projects which is typography based I've been trying out some words using the food they're mentioning! Here's my experiments with 'Muesli' made of Muesli! :)

Internship Work: Pop-Art Inspired Logo Ideas

Currently, at my internship I've been working (and am just finishing off) some logo designs and a presentation to show a client who is looking to re-brand/re-design their cafe. The name we have been working with so far is 'Hot on Top', and based on some pop-arty styled things we've seen around areas of London like Shoreditch and Lambs Conduit I drew up some hand written logos.

I don't know what will be presented to the client yet, but I really like the hand written, script looking text I've made... When it comes to choosing a definite colour though, the decision is really difficult to pick a favourite!

Below is another variation on the theme I drew into the computer with my graphics tablet. Whatever I decide to use, the choice won't be an easy one!

Typography: Creating Letters In Smoke

This is another example of some older work I have done last term but its something I really enjoyed making even though it took me around 4 hours! This was a part of a project where I had to create my own Zine (small magazine), which could be based on anything I liked. My topic was a kind of "Good Housekeeping" guide for the dead housewife (so a twist on your standard preconception of this sort of magazine).

This isn't the title of my magazine but the text created for an advert type page for a new perfume called 'Mascarilla', which I believe means 'Death Mask'. I added a Day of the Dead sugar skull into the foreground and made it look like it was spraying this text out of a trigger spray at the top of its head, so it was all very stylised and awesome (I think!) Lets hope the effort is worth the long term grade!
